Cambridge Social Media Day conference highlights importance of video content

Video content on social media helps brands to stand out from the crowd – and their competitors.

That’s the message from Dayglow Media ahead of Cambridge’s premier media and marketing event, Social Media Day, which takes place at Storey’s Field Centre, Eddington, on November 8.

Dayglow Media creates audio-visual material to broadcast standard. HD video is filmed and edited to a high professional level, while audio content includes podcasts, music shows and documentaries.

Dayglow’s director Simon Barnett said: “In a noisy world, words alone are not enough to stand out. Video is versatile, attention-grabbing and highly shareable. One recent survey has found that online, video as a marketing tool can be as much as 600% more effective than print and direct mail put together.

“It’s hard to think of a more powerful way of connecting with an audience.”

Barnett was speaking ahead of the Social Media Day conference, at which video content is likely to be a hot topic.

He added: “Social Media Day will be an incredibly creative, inspiring event. We hope that it will make more people think about the importance of video for their online content.”
