Bexleyheath’s alive with va va vroom!

If you were in Bexleyheath Town Centre on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 April, you were in for a treat. The Car Show, located on the town’s Broadway, showcased the latest names from some of the world’s biggest car brands. Visitors were able to get to grips with the latest in automotive technology, with new cars from Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Ford and Jeep on display.

The Car Show was a great opportunity for visitors to meet local car dealers from across the Borough and compare makes and models. The car dealers were able to highlight the new models on offer, while answering questions from interested visitors and even booking test drives for those who wanted to get behind the wheel for themselves.

However, the excitement didn’t stop there. The Bexleyheath Car Show made sure that there was something for everyone in the family, guarantying a fun-packed day for all.

The Race Hub Simulator transported users to virtual simulations of real life tracks. Those with the need for speed, of all ages, were able to slip into pole position at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit with full motion-sensor simulator rigs and try their hand at taking on some of the most difficult tracks on the planet!

For those with a love of the silver screen, there was an amazing opportunity to spend time with favourite movie cars – if only in replica. For young ‘Cars’ fans, ‘Lightning McQueen’ and ‘Mater Tow Truck’ delighted and dazzled in equal measure while ‘Ghostbusters’ Ecto 1’ meant that fans of both the original film and the recent reboot were able to marvel over the iconic vehicle.

On hand to capture the best of the family fun was a Black Taxi Photo Booth. Not only was the whole family able to take a snapshot of a memorable day out, but the fabulously fun props in the photo booth made it an event to remember.

Town Centre manager Tony Garratt of Bexleyheath BID said,

“It was great to see so many people challenging my lap time on the Race Hub whilst enjoying all that the event had to offer. Bexleyheath is becoming recognised as a local destination of choice that provides free and quality events and entertainment. This is only possible by way of the collaborative working of all involved.”

Managing Director of Race Hub, Mark Russell Said,

“Bexleyheath car show with RACE HUB Simulation certainly brought the racing car driver out in a few. With a 2 day event it got quite tight at the top of the Hot lap leader board but was pipped at the last minute by Dan Dalmall with a time of 56.360, winning himself a hours free session at RACE HUB, Brands Hatch. Well done to all that took part and Thanks to the team at Bexleyheath BID for organising such a great event.”
