Audit salaries stagnate and candidates don’t want to move.

The results of BeecherMadden’s salary survey on the internal audit market have been published today. Over the past 12 months, salaries have not shown any real increase, per grade. Often, this would lead to candidates moving on to other jobs, as they look for a salary increase elsewhere. However, almost 20% of candidates were not looking to move jobs at all and 50% would only move if actively approached about a new role.

Luke Vile, business development director for BeecherMadden, says “that most of the candidate market is passive, will be a challenge for companies looking to recruit internal audit candidates in 2016. Vacancies are on the increase and our clients recognise that they struggle to attract the right calibre of candidate. Companies may need to offer significant salary increases to attract the right individuals. However, where grades and career paths are often clearly defined, this can be difficult, without upsetting teams that are already in-situ.”
