20th June is World Productivity Day – Measure How Productive You Are at Work and Cure Poor Meetings

Inspirometer announced today the launch of its new tool for measuring workplace meeting effectiveness. In time for World Productivity Day the team at Inspirometer launched the online tool that is set to revolutionise the way that feedback on meetings is given in the workplace.

According to studies quoted by Fast Company, CBS News and the Guardian, meetings in the workplace can average less than 50% efficiency. The problem of unproductive meetings persists because of a lack of real-time feedback data for participants and coordinators. Without feedback data, sustained improvement of meeting effectiveness is virtually impossible.

The team at Inspirometer not only recognised this problem but also developed the tool that enables feedback to be given securely in one click. The tool requires no sign-up or set-up, takes its information directly from the meeting invitation, and captures feedback from attendees with a single click of a mouse. Meeting attendees click on one relevant icon from a choice of six happy to unhappy faces. The chosen face registers an anonymous feedback response in real-time. To launch the tool, the meeting host is simply required to include ‘meetings(at)inspirometer(dot)com ’ in the list of invitees.

This simple yet inspiring tool was chosen by Essex County Council to develop under the Essex Innovation Programme for start-ups.

Mike Clargo, Director at Inspirometer commented, “This World Productivity Day we want people to use Inspirometer to see how productive their meetings are. Anybody who is setting up a meeting on 20th June (or any other day) in Outlook or Google calendars simply adds meetings(at)inspirometer(dot)com as an invitee to their meeting. At the end of the meeting, after feedback is given, the meeting organiser will be able view feedback on a secure dashboard.”

Inspirometer is part of a system, which can be linked together to track improvement over time, and pull together organisation-wide statistics to help businesses transform how their people work together.

Dietmar Harteveld, Supply Chain Director at Siemens, explained “Inspirometers simultaneously engage everyone in facilitating and transforming performance from the inside out. We are currently looking to apply Inspirometer's new tool to our meeting and email performance. We believe we can achieve a significant productivity gain simply through getting better in these areas.”

Louise Bland, Supporter Relations Director at Compassion UK adds "Inspirometer is an excellent tool that enables feedback and learning. Mike Clargo, Director of inspirometer, has a wonderful vision of enabling individuals. So, as well as a line manager having access to stats and graphs, each team member can monitor their own feedback. The tool has assisted us in growing best practice. I’ve loved hearing my team members celebrate together when good feedback is received and also unpacking why a less favourable score has been received."

Anybody accessing the tool for the first time throughout June or July will receive 10 complimentary meetings. Beyond that the tool is charged at £5 per account (meeting organiser) per month - a cost that will be returned several fold by the first meeting improvement.
