1000 mums seeking flexible work and business opportunities will have lift off this Thursday
OVER 1000 MUM WILL DESCEND UPON BRIGHTON THIS THURSDAY SEEKING FLEXIBLE WORK AND BUSINESS OPTIONS
It’s taken two mums, two years to bring this social enterprise to Brighton, the UK’s only child-friendly work and business exhibition for mums on a mission, ready for lift off at the Amex Stadium, Brighton on Thursday 23rd February.
The Mums Enterprise Roadshow is the only event of its kind in the UK and is organised by two mums who could see the need for such an event. A child-friendly work and business show designed to help mums start or grow a business, find flexible work and home work opportunities and best of all it’s completely free for mums to attend.
Working with partners, online accounting software company Xero, global women’s work and lifestyle website TalentedLadiesClub.com and over 35 exhibiting organisations. The show intends to help change the work and business lives of mums, for the better forever by giving them a day full of taster workshops, support and opportunities, many mums may not even know exist all whilst being baby and child-friendly with toys, feeding and changing facilities freely available.
Past event attendees have described the event as “Life-changing” with two previous attendees from the 2016 events having launched their business and exhibiting at the Brighton event with the intention to win new clients. The event is all about inspiring confidence and giving mums the tools and contacts they need to take action with the organisers sole mission being to truly make a positive impact on the lives of those who attend.
Commenting on the show is founding director Lindsey Fish “These events are needed and the right time is now. Thousands if not millions of mums across the UK have so much talent and so much is going to waste. Often returning to the corporate 9-5 is not a feasible option, it certainly wasn’t for me. But that’s not to say that experience, talent and passion should go unused. The world is changing, never before have there been so many flexible work, business and franchise opportunities or so much support for mums wanting to start or grow a business. There is a movement happening, it’s finally ok to admit that being a mum is hard, and that ambitions to be independent and succeed in work or business are still there after having a baby. Why can’t we be fulfilled in both family and work aspects of our life? We are shooting for the moon and are so excited that more than a thousand mums from all across the South-East of the UK want to join us in Brighton for our biggest event yet. As the saying goes ‘Shoot for the moon event if you miss you’ll land amongst the stars’.
Attendees can visit over 30 exhibitors who have skills, opportunities and support to offer. There are taster workshops covering topics like 'Identify your strengths', 'Turn your Customers into Fans' and 'How to Choose a Franchise that’s right for you'. Digital Garage from Google will also be there offering free digital skills training. There is speed networking, a Q&A panel, free 1-2-1 accountancy advice clinics from Xero and free business advice from entrepreneur and investor Paul Dolman-Darrall.
The event is completely free to attend. Mums come and go when it suits them and all content is optional. Lindsey adds “This is a show curated with mums 100% in mind, there are no forced-to-see sales pitches, no non-sense and certainly no ‘get rich quick schemes’. This is a totally relaxed, informal but inspirational event where every decision has been made with those attending in mind.”
